Seriously, that is why Amethyst, Aquamarine and other beautiful colored stones are not seen on the top of an Engagement ring often. Because they simply do not hold up. Meaning, they nick, chip and sometimes even break because their hardness is not high enough to withhold the everyday wear and tear and engagement ring endures.
