First Blog ~ Wish me luck

Hey Jewel lovers, I would like to start off this new Blog / journey with a quick one to get me comfortable. 

First, Let me introduce myself 

My name is Brooke Zangerl and I'm the daughter of the designer and owner of First People's Jewelers and future owner and manager.

I grew up running around this jewelry store in the 90's with my little brother Zack. We were always coming to the store after school everyday looking for anything and everything we could get our hands on to play with ( i. e. staplers, paper, diamonds.. ) and making sure to annoy the current employees. ( usually students from UNT or TWU working part time )

To our defense we always got roped into help carry all the jewels to and from the walk-in vault each night so if anything I thought we were helpful... ish! 

Anyways, like I said grew up in the jewelry store. 

Which also meant once I got older I got to accompany my dad to picking up and picking out Diamonds & Sapphires, Rolex's watches, and even picking up custom designed jewelry in Dallas every week, which I really started to enjoy. Getting buzzed in and out of all the high security high-rise buildings picking up expensive items was always a thrill for me as a young adult. 

Eventually I was invited to join the FPJ Team when going to Jewelry and Watch Trade Shows and that's when I really started to get excited about the jewelry industry. 

And then finally, once I finished high-school I was tasked with deciding which career path I was interested in pursuing in my life. Thats when it hit me... Duh I want to be in the jewelry industry! 

Let's start there!

 P. S. Yes, I consider my self young to be a gemologist. 

So that's why I picked that title for now... or until I get old
